Understanding Fraction Sizes

Fraction Sizes: What size instrument is right for you?

See charts below in order to determine the correct instrument size for you.

Keep in Mind:

  • All presented charts are based on averages. Our bodies are unique, so height, hand size, and length of arms vary among the same age range and can affect the size of the instrument.
  • If a student falls in between or overlaps with two sizes, it is recommended to choose the smaller of the two sizes rather than attempting to learn on an instrument too large, which can be uncomfortable and result in long term injury.
  • Any questions? We are here to help. Visit us in store and let our expert staff assist you in finding your correct size at no charge.
  • Should you happen to get the wrong size, we offer size exchanges at NO COST and can often arrange to bring the new instrument directly to your student’s school.
